California light + film? Yes please!
I had the honor of shooting some event photography for the Click Away conference in Dana Point, California this year and the setting, people and light were all simply amazing. I am certainly no event photographer, so when Clickin’ Moms asked me to come to the conference and capture part of the event on film I was just a teeny tiny bit nervous. I obviously knew I could work my film camera with no problem, but I was terrified at just HOW to approach an event with tons of people. I quickly figured out that event photography really is no different than other type of photography - you basically just have to look for pretty light and be patient. That’s it. And being a fly on the wall and looking for all the beautiful details was truly enjoyable! The experience was absolutely amazing and I am so glad I didn’t let my nerves get the best of me and talk me out of saying YES!
So say YES to things that make you uncomfortable. Say YES to trying something new and stepping out of your comfort zone. The reward is always always always worth the risk!
