I have said it before, but I will say it again… Sunrise is the absolute BEST time for a family session! If you have ever scheduled a family session for sunset basically anywhere in your city, you probably know that there are crowds and people and other photographers everywhere. Shooting in that chaotic and crazy environment basically zaps all my creativity and ideas. But sunrise, y’all. Sunrise is amazing. You basically have the entire city, or downtown, or local park, all to yourself! Not having to fight for spots, seek out hidden areas or worry about people stepping into your frame allows your family to really relax and enjoy the time together. I mean, let’s face it. Having your picture made is weird enough. Throw in groups of people watching you during your session, and it gets even weirder. It’s not weird at sunrise. Just saying. ;)
This adorable family session was shot in downtown Charleston during a glorious, Friday morning sunrise. We basically had downtown Charleston all to ourselves and it was amazing!
