My heart. This session is what my heart longs for more of. Gorgeous light, open fields and family who shows up ready to love on one another. My goal during every single session is to not only catch those moments of tenderness and love, but those silly smiles, craziness and goofy laughs. The Kentner's were a dream to photograph and their love for one another shines through.
This sweet family just makes me smile! We had the most beautiful night for their session (back when Fall was still treating us like Summer) and the light and soft breeze couldn't have been more perfect. Nicole is an amazing photographer herself and it is always a pleasure to meet and photograph others who have the same passion for photography. Only 46 days until Christmas! Time to get your holiday dress on! I truly don't even have words to describe how much I love this sweet mama and her dear babies. This was the third time I photographed this beautiful family (minus dad this time), and watching them grow and change over the year is THE BEST. Laura is the most amazing mama and her babies love her so much. Thank you, Laura, for trusting me to photograph your family. Oh how I love when I get to see the babies I photographed as newborns again! I had the pleasure of capturing sweet Amelia when she was just a few days old and photographing her again at 6 months was just awesome!

Oh sweet baby.
My heart just wants to burst at every single newborn session. New life is just so precious. This is how every day should be spent....cuddling babies and smiling non-stop. Congratulations Farina family on your sweet baby boy.
My favorite thing about this family is DAD! Yep! You heard that right! When the Abel's booked me for a session, I'm pretty sure mom had the idea to just photograph the kiddos. But Dad.....he thought it would be a great opportunity for them to have pictures as a family. I know it gets SO much harder when the kids are grown and your schedules are all over the place, but capturing you as a family NOW is just so important. This stage and age will soon fade and evolve into something different - and looking back on these images will be priceless for years to come.
So, yep. I gave Dad a great big high five and told him he was my favorite person ever. Here's a peek at our dreamy session.
One of the specials I offered this year was a complimentary maternity session for anyone who booked a newborn session with me. I never had maternity photos taken when I was pregnant with my babies and I so regret not getting all dolled up and stepping in front of the camera with my husband for a few photos of just us TWO (and a big ole belly).
It has been SO wonderful meeting all the pregnant mamas (and dads-to-be) this year and it has made those newborn sessions so much more special. I love getting to know my clients and forming a bond and relationship with them and I am so thankful for this amazing job.

My fall sessions are in full swing and I have loved spending time with all of the amazing families I've been able to photograph so far this year. The Kane family was such a delight to capture together and I still can't get over the sweet expressions from their little guy! Here's a little peek at our time together!
I mean....what's sweeter than a toddler with a gummy smile? I really don't think anything. Toddlers are probably my favorite because they really could care less about me. All they want to do is explore, cuddle mama and dad and giggle. They make my job pretty easy. It was such an honor to meet and photograph the adorable Bunn family. Here's a little peek....
I love my sweet little guy something fierce, so I can only imagine how full this mama's heart is with her three little boys. They were all a delight and so full of energy during our session - and they definitely kept me on my toes.

These first few moments of life are just so unbelievably precious. The Crabtree family and their sweet baby girl, Collins, were just so amazing. There was SO much love between these three and it was pretty awesome to watch. The absolute SWEETEST part was that Dad had refused to take off his bracelet from their time in the hospital. I mean, how sweet is that? Sweet Collins was a dream and slept for almost the entire session (which really RARELY happens with an in-home session). There's something about these lifestyle sessions that just warms my heart.

Claire is one of the most beautiful people I've ever met and working with her over this past year has just been so fun. Most of our time together is spent shooting editorial work for her blog and website, but sometimes I bribe her to stand in front of my camera for portraits. Her beauty is inside and out.
A few weeks ago, I hosted charity photo sessions for hurricane relief and I got to photograph THE BEST families. It was so much fun and my heart kind of loves mini sessions. They're short and sweet and just long enough to capture that love and connection of a family (without kiddo meltdown or fussiness).
When I scheduled these, my hope was for pretty fall weather with those cool, crisp breezes. Unfortunately, NC is still on a summer schedule, but we made it work anyway. The Fitzpatrick Family were my first of 12 families and even though it was hot, they still showed up, loved on each other and let me capture them together.
Here's a peek at their sweetness. (And the mom, Sara, owns the best cupcake shop in downtown Raleigh! The Cupcake Shoppe is simply divine and if you're local, you just have to stop by and grab a cupcake (or 6))!

It was such an honor to spend some time with Allison, Chris and their sweet new bundle of joy, Collins. She was just a dream and so perfect in every single way. These moments are so raw, but so tender and being able to capture a new family will always be a great privledge to me. I mean, what is better than a first birthday?
Maxton turned one right before my session with his sweet family, so we HAD to incorporate a cake smash into our time together! This little buddy LOVES cake (don't we all, lol), and I absolutely loved watching him pensively taste-test the cake and then proceed to dive right in. Such a cutie. Cake smashes are where it's at, y'all. Happy 1st birthday little man!

You guys! There is seriously nothing like the air in a house with a brand new baby. There's nothing I love more than spending time photographing a family as they welcome their newest bundle of joy.
