A baby is the greatest gift ever and this sweet family brought tears to my eyes. I am always so incredibly thankful to everyone who opens their doors to me and allows me into their home during this intimate time. 

This sweet mama had the most heartbreaking and inspiring story ever and being a witness to her strength was truly amazing. I've learned that everyone has some type of story to tell. Some are love stories, some are heart wrenching stories, some are a mix of both. Being there with them, listening to the intimate details of bringing this new baby into the world, and then using my camera to tell the story will always be where my heart is. I want to tell your story. I want to show you the magic that lies within.

Brand New | Raleigh Newborn Photographer

It's amazing how just one sound, one sight or one smell can take you back to a certain time and place. Every single time I walk into a home with a sweet newborn baby, the emotions come rushing back and I remember all those teeny-tiny details about my sweet babies. My babies keep growing and growing, but I remember these moments like they were yesterday. I'm pretty sure I wasn't as cool, calm and collected as I am during my newborn sessions, but that makes it even that much sweeter. I get to relive my days while showing others just how precious their life truly is. My ultimate goal at every single newborn session is to capture those details and memories that fade so very quickly with time. It's to preserve the here and now and document all the bits and pieces, no matter how small or how trivial at that moment. The snuggles, the curly toes, the flaky skin....it's the in-between moments that count the most. 

Sweet baby Anna was as darling as she looks and it was a dream to capture her and her parents during these first few magical days together. This new life is amazingly precious and words just don't do it justice. You have to BE there to see it, feel it, experience it. If you're a mama, either with tiny babies or big grown babies, you know exactly what I'm talking about, right?? The coos, the noises, the smells and even those sweet baby cries are what these sessions are all about. I am forever grateful to all my clients who invite me into their home to document this time together. Here's a little peek at sweet baby Anna.

Sweet baby. 

I had the incredible honor of documenting the birth of baby Vivian, so it was so wonderful to see her again a few days later. It always amazes me how quickly babies change - even during those first few days. Vivian was beyond precious and was just a little angel. Congrats, Laura and Brett, on your beautiful baby girl.

My heart just wants to burst at every single newborn session. New life is just so precious. This is how every day should be spent....cuddling babies and smiling non-stop. Congratulations Farina family on your sweet baby boy.

These first few moments of life are just so unbelievably precious. The Crabtree family and their sweet baby girl, Collins, were just so amazing. There was SO much love between these three and it was pretty awesome to watch.  The absolute SWEETEST part was that Dad had refused to take off his bracelet from their time in the hospital. I mean, how sweet is that? Sweet Collins was a dream and slept for almost the entire session (which really RARELY happens with an in-home session). There's something about these lifestyle sessions that just warms my heart.

Newborn sessions will always be a favorite. New life is something so beautiful and watching a family love on a baby that's just a few days old is priceless.  I was honored to be able to capture some images of my sweet friend, Megan and her adorable babies. Megan's daughter, Grace, is my daughter's "best friend forever" and we are so fortunate to have them in our life.

Baby Graham was an ANGEL and slept the entire time I was there (note to all you mamas - keep those bellies full and the house warm and those babies will sleep through the entire session! Promise!). He is such a blessing and he sure does have the best sister and mama around. xo

I have all the heart eyes in the world for sweet baby Lily and I am so honored to have been able to capture Lily and her parents just a few days after she made her little way into this world.

Watching a first time mama and daddy with their new bundle of joy is priceless and being able to record some of those sweet moments is just my favorite. All the snuggles, cuddles, yawns and even those baby cries are worth documenting. Little Lily decided to stay awake for most of our session (just like a lot of those newborns who can easily get overstimulated), so she got extra snuggles from her mama and daddy for this session.

Baby Amelia | Raleigh Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

Oh sweet baby!

Baby Amelia was maybe THE BEST baby I have ever photographed. She didn't make a PEEP the entire time. Her mama and daddy say she gets fussy at night, but I'm not sure if I believe them. She was a total angel, not to mention the squishiest baby ever.

I love getting a glimpse of my client's everyday....their homes, nurseries, pets, personalities. Getting to really know them and being able to connect with them is really my favorite part of this whole gig. I'm a lucky gal, for sure.

Gimme all the babies.

I never tire of spending the day with a new little one + their sweet family. It really is such an honor to be welcomed into someone's home...a family's new life...and allowed to document those moments together.  

My favorite part of any session is being able to connect with all the mamas and daddies. I always strive to make everyone feel comfortable and at home...not stressed or worried about pictures or certain moments being captured.

Amelia's mama, Ann, is an amazing photographer, so naturally she was completely at ease with our session. We cuddled baby Amelia, chatted, chased her sweet son around the house and snapped some pictures. It was my very favorite way to start any Saturday!

Oh sweet baby. Or babies, I should say! Two is always better than one and I was SO incredibly honored to be able to capture sweet baby Austin and baby Brady. Brothers. So very different, but so very amazing. I loved seeing how their little personalities were already showing even at 8 weeks. Sweet mama sure is lucky to have these little boys in her life. 

Being invited into someone's home and having the opportunity to spend a few hours with them  is always so amazing. I love getting a peek at the real life and I especially love being able to capture the love and emotion of a family.

Baby Malayna | Raleigh Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

Oh sweet baby!

I would give anything for a third baby, but my husband keeps saying no, so I'll just have to live vicariously through all of these sweet newborns. Newborn session has become my new favorite. They're slower paced, quiet and so darn sweet. There is nothing more precious than seeing new parents with their sweet bundle of joy.

I had the pleasure of capturing sweet baby Malayna and her beautiful mama one chilly morning early December. Malayna was born a few weeks early, so she was teeny-tiny. And she reminded me so much of my sweet Anna. Anna was full term, but I had some complications and ended up staying in the hospital for the week after she was born. She lost quite a bit of weight before we were able to go home and weighed in at a whopping 5 lbs. 12 oz. when we were discharged. Malayna was just as small as Anna and was just so precious. It brought back all of those mama memories and I my craving to do it all again grew as I held and photographed sweet Malayna. For now, though, my husband says I have to stick with newborn photography to get my baby fix.....
